Deputy Principals Message

Dear Parents/Guardians and friends of Sirius College,

Another term has come to an end, and I cannot believe it is the end of June already! Thank you to all our students, teachers, and families for their ongoing support at Sirius College.

Assessments and Reporting:

Teachers have been busy putting assessments online on our information system SEQTA, and are busy preparing student reports. You can view your child’s results online via SEQTA ENGAGE. Please call the office if you still do not have your log-in credentials. Your child’s report will be sent in the mail in the upcoming weeks.

Uniform

Students and staff return to school on 17th of July for Term 3. Please ensure your child returns to school in correct, neat and untorn school uniform and shoes. We want our students to represent our college in the best way possible, by wearing their college uniform with pride.

Behaviour Management

Sirius College has a zero tolerance to bullying. As mentioned previously, we have a whole school Behaviour Management System we have commenced using this year. Staff and students are well aware of the steps involved in our system. In Term 3, we will be holding an information session for our parents on our behaviour management system, the steps we follow, and how we tackle any bullying issues that may arise. You will receive information in the first weeks of Term 3.

Parent Duty of Care

It has come to our attention that parents are dropping off their children to school too early or picking students up very late after school. All families will receive an updated policy on parent’s duty of care in Term 3. School commences at 8.45am and finishes at 3.25pm. Students at school unsupervised before 8:35am and after 3:45pm are not safe. Your child’s safety is paramount. Please DO NOT drop off your child to school before 8.35 and DO NOT leave your child sitting at school after 3.45pm. Failure to do so will have the management following it up with the families.

Parent/Staff communication

Quite often, parents wish to give feedback or want to communicate with staff members. Families must make an appointment via the office if they wish to speak to a staff member. Alternatively, you may email them. If so, please allow up to 3 working days for a response, as quite often teachers will need to follow up your email prior to responding.

Last but not least, read with your child over the holiday break

Have a prosperous holiday!
